new house...bare walls...

As we get settled in to this new place i've been doing a few "projects" in hopes of making our bare walls brim with a little life.

This is the first one I did. I love Jones Design Company and the style she has...but with this project I tried to put my own little flair on it. Satch says I should have written the "love lives here" bigger, but after seeing it on our wall, I'm okay with how it turned out.

we'll be doing this project with 8 junior high girls this weekend, we'll see how that goes!

Wedding Projects...

Here's what kept us busy for the past 6 months... (phew, it's over!)

{the shoe flowers for the bridesmaids}

Amazing friend and bridesmaid AM came up with this cute idea to create some cohesion with the bridesmaids shoes (since I didn't care what shoe they wore). It was cool to see how each shoe looked a little different with the placement of the flowers!

left over from the forests of Santa Fe, Dad, Satch and I found this wood, cut it in 1/2" slices, sanded them down with a power sander (thanks Satch) and branded away. The finish pieces have holes drilled in the top and more baker's twined looped through for the full ornament effect (a special tradition in our relationship made an awesome and personal take away).

Lately I'm really into the baker's twine and we wanted to maximize use of the brand...I think the two juxtaposed perfectly. My uncle D had the card-stock die-cut to specs, so we got to have our own custom piece!

Thanks to dear friend and bridesmaid TK and our nearly effortless teamwork that created this perfect invite suite that displayed and described satch&i and the event so well!

we purchased the planters at Jackalope in Albuquerque
E & Dad found some "downed" aspen trees in the outskirts of Steamboat (thanks guys!)
Dear friend & bridesmaid KW sewed the perfectly sheer cover that was tied to each post.
Dad made it sturdy with bases that each planter was drilled to. It was JUST what I had in mind.

During the rehearsal dinner, we had close family and friends + the bridal party sign some old skis that RC found on ebay. Dad created a bracket to hold the skis and we strung the escort lift tickets across each row. Each guest was seated at a table named after a ski resort, which they located by the resort stickers that my brother E, scrounged up.

While in Santa Fe, we found a downed log near the trail head. We cut the log into different heights with a chainsaw and nailed a place card that said which cake was which. I especially loved how these turned out and hope that I have a reason to use them again at another party...

The three of us (D,S,&me) spent one afternoon building these entry way branches...covering them in "fake snow"...duct taping the bottom and covering them with twinkly white lights. They didn't turn out ask cute as the headband in M's hair that I made, but they were the perfect touch for the front of the ceremony...here's a picture of one of them by day...

that's all I got for now...scrounging through photos. Thanks everyone for your help, wouldn't have been the same without you. Now, on to home projects!

Plates for all occasions...

Trust me, I realize that wedding season is upon us and so with it...custom einstyle plate season, but I have to admit, I've been so distracted by all the babies that either just arrived or are WELL on their way...

A few months ago, my cousin ordered a custom plate for her family to help them celebrate birthdays as i'm sure that you've seen this...

we went with the baby bird theme as that was the theme of her shower and the new little one's room would be green and purple, and I think it turned out awesome and ended up being the center piece at the shower...

I make these sweatshirts...

so a few weeks ago, I made one for one of my dear

friends in a light weight sweatshirt material because she lives in a sunny climate so naturally doesn't need all the layers that we here in the PNW do. She has a sweet little new baby, who just happens to be named everly...so of course I had to make her something similar....

and here's the back... (which is my favorite part)

but the best part is that a few days after the package of goodies got to my friend AM... I saw this in my inbox...

it makes perfect sense that she would look right into the camera at age (3 months) taking right after her mama in her natural modeling abilities :)

most of all, it looks adorable on her and it's fun to see the einstyle e in a new way.

New Blog Site...

Dear Einstyle Fans,

For those of you that follow or care about the "what's up" with Einstyle...read the following:

Over the past year or so, I've spent most of my time doing "other" jobs, but Einstyle is something that I love doing on the side. With that said, at this point...that "on the side" will have to continue. The best way for me to do that is to take a step back. The year or so that I've had a website, it's gone well, getting the word out there about the things I'm creating. However, the constant updates and the effectiveness in online ordering seems to be something that might be BETTER suited for a style like this.

Check back often, I'll post new earrings that I'm creating and other sweet stuff for guys and girls.
If you want something that's created, you can comment on the blog or email me with what you want. I'll post pictures of the plates and the information about ordering plates that currently exsists on the Einstyle site now. This process will be slow, so like I said...check back!
